Star Wars Secret Wishes Princess Leia Costume, White, Large

For those of us who are old-school Star Wars fans, this is a wonderful costume for the ladies. I wore it with white leggings and white snow boots (those are the only white boots I have.) I got many compliments from the parent-generation. The kids? Not so much. They had no idea who I was. They are into the new-school Star Wars: Clone Wars. Many of those kids were even dressed in Star Wars costumes!! But they had no idea who I was.

The costume comes with dress, belt, wig. It does not come with the gogo boots or the blaster.

I got so many compliments! The belt is a rubbery material and sticks on with velcro. It stayed on just fine; it really completed the look & made it look suddenly like Princess Leia! The wig had a horrible part on it, I think it’s synthetic hair (which is fine with me personally) and it really didn’t look good at all. But it was good enough for me at the price point. I didn’t want to spend more. This costume will be the costume of choice for me for probably the next 10 years of my life! It was pretty flattering too. I’m a very curvy woman with a bit of a belly from having given birth and not doing Heidi Klum-worthy situps to get rid of it. But it was still flattering. I wear a small/medium in real dresses these days; I ordered a Medium in this costume only because I wanted to make sure it would be flattering & fit my larger curves.

My husband LOVEs the costume. He felt like he should dress like Han Solo! Maybe next year!

I also like that it’s white – so when Trick-Or-Treating in the dark – it’s very visible for the plethora of driving cars going by. A wise choice for a momma escorting her Trick-or-Treaters.

Thought this would be sexy on the boat this spring/summer without being trashy, and I was right, this is a very cute cover up. I purchased a large and I am 5’5 and 166 pounds. The cover up is a see-through outfit, so you will have to wear a swimsuit underneath. I purchased the white cover up, and it looks very cute with my white bikini underneath, it covers any flaws you may have especially the tummy area, making one look trendy, slim and most importantly “sexly conservative” …I know “Sexly” is not a word!…But is some how fits, you get what I am saying!

FITTED CAREER WOMAN COCKTAIL HIGH WAIST PENCIL SATIN DRESS WITH BELT

i got this in the size 12 (USA), in the purple color, and i adore it! i am definately going to get this in black, too.

This dress does assume that your waist is significantly smaller than your hip or bust measurements; it really isn’t designed to hide any flaws. Also, once i’d tried it on and decided it fit well enough to keep, i had it tailored, since the hip measurement was too big for me (not an unusual occurence for me).

As other reviewers have stated, this dress is, indeed, very form-fitting. This dress is designed to be extremely sexy without being TOO revealing.

Having said that, it is VERY sexy, and with the right heels and hairdo, it is just wonderfully cute ‘n sassy! The skirt is pretty tight, but there is a slit in back to making walking easier, but still, you’ll be mincing rather than striding along in this little number! (Actually, that’s not an issue, because a dress like this very much demands that you were a pair of sexy heels with it, so you’ll be taking somewhat smaller strides anyway).

You can wear this to the office, or to cocktails after work, or to a party. It’s very versatile, and looks great.

Ever Pretty Elegant V-neck Long Chiffon Crystal Maxi Evening Dress 09016, HE09016PP12, Purple, Size 10

I was looking for a new dress to wear to a wedding, and ordered three dresses by the English company Ever Pretty. I’m reviewing each of them, and some of my comments will be similar on the reviews.

First of all – it is CRUCIAL that you order according to the measurement chart the manufacturer includes on this page. It is one of the images available to view. I ordered this Ever Pretty Elegant V-neck Long Chiffon Crystal Maxi Evening Dress 09016 according to this chart, and the dress received fits nicely, with the caveat about the bodice. I’m still not sure what European size I fit, because the sewn-in label on the dress has a different size from the cardboard tag attached to the dress! That is, the sewn-in label says “USA 2XL, UK/AU 16?. I normally wouldn’t fit a 2XL, however, and the paper label appears more accurate, stating “US 14, AU/UK 16?.

So I’m very glad I went by the chart (and measured myself beforehand to check), because this is a lovely dress.

The chiffon of the bodice and skirt is wonderfully light and swishy – this is a very romantic dress! I am almost 5’5?, and I will have to take up the hem a little, as it’s too long, even with heels. However, as I frequently have to take up hems, this isn’t a star deduction for me.

The inner layer (lining) is a non-stretch knit. Both the lining and the chiffon are 100% polyester. The laundry label states “Dry cleaning possible. Hand Wash Cold”. Going by my experience, carefully hand-washing in cold water, and hanging up to drip dry work perfectly for this dress.

The page description for this dress states that it includes two “diamantes” for the shoulders. These are two pins, carefully wrapped and in a baggie attached to the dress label. The pins are 2? long with sparkley rhinestones set in a knot pattern of gold-toned metal. In the photos on this page, you can see that they have the pins attached at the top of the shoulder. I really like that these pins are detachable (a sign of quality). I might want to wear silver jewelry with the dress, and appreciate that I’m not stuck with the gold.

The description doesn’t state this, but this is a “plunge” neckline. If you are uncomfortable, you can always tack a triangle of lace at the bottom of the V, for a little more coverage. I will be wearing this lovely dress with breast petals. If you wear a bra and do not use a triangle for coverage, you may need to invest in one of the plunge-style bras.

Also, the bodice on this dress is short and higher-waisted than I thought it would be from the photos on this page. [Note, not all colors of the dress have the same number of views to look at. The red version, I think, gives you a great selection of photos to look at, and also shows the dress' detail well.] On my dress, I measured the fabric at 12?, from the seam where the bodice is attached to the waistband, to the top of the shoulder. This may or may not work for you. If you are well-endowed, you may find this doesn’t work, even if the rest of the dress fits.

This is a really very nice dress. I think it is exceptional quality for the money.

I ordered this dress for a cruise I’m going on. I am a busty girl with the wrong kind of curves so I knew that I had a 50/50 chance that something cute would lay right and still look good…all that jazz.
I ordered the 16 and well, it fit beautifully. What made it work so well I think is the rouching around the chest area. It helped lift the fabric off my of my stomach a little (so in a sense it kind of hid my belly). Also, the cup size for the girls is big enough to hide any side boob that a strapless won’t conceal.
Although I feel comfortable getting away wearing just the dress and no cover up on my shoulders, I did still purchase one.

I got this one from Amazon.com as well: S Max by Adi Stretch Knit Bolero. Lo and behold it’s the same fabric as the dress so it looks like it belongs.

Lastly, I am 5’4? and the the dress just started to graze the floor…
I liked this dress so much I purchased another one in a different color!

I was skeptical about purchasing this dress but I’m glad I did! This dress is perfect for my vacation. Perfect fit, not constricting…not too long (I’m 5’10?, 185lbs)…the material is that silky polyester but not as heavy as most. Very light and airy. My 14yr daughter even said I looked nice…can’t get any better than that!

I previously purchased the orange version of this dress and the pattern is a lot prettier in the orange. I liked it so much that I got the green version. The material on the top of the boob area is not so nicely chosen, as the pattern is different on one side than the other, so if you are picky, it does give a slightly lop-sided impression. I did not find this as noticeable on the orange dress. Other than that, be aware that the black part of the dress is rather thin and is ever so SLIGHTLY transparent – you MAY want to wear a slip under it. Also be aware that it does hug the front belly area a bit, so if you have the “pregnant-belly” effect , like I do, after eating, just be prepared to suck it in, do your crunches before wearing it, wear spanks (not too healthy), or any other tricks you may have up your sleeve…or arm in this case, since the dress has no sleeves.

I do like the green dress overall though, and for the sale price (19.99) it is a good buy. The orange dress I would recommend much more though – it is gorgeous and the colors are striking.
The shape of the dress is very elegant for a “maxi dress”. It’s long – it is an excellent length if you have long legs / are tall. I’m 5’9? and I bought the size 8.

Although the dress is very pretty, it is very long. I am 5’8" and without shoes on, this dress touches the floor. In addition, there is no padding in the "bra" area, so a bra is needed in order to have "shape" when wearing this dress.

I bought this dress for my bachelorette party. Now, I am usually a pretty modest person but my sister talked me into this dress by pointing out that this will only happen once in my life. And WOW! This is a tight, sexy dress that makes me feel like stripper but I guess that’s the point of this lil number.
I am 5’8" (pushing 5’9"!), 120 pounds, wear a 34C bra and ordered a small and it is tight, not in a bad way but certainly if you had anything to hide this dress would not be forgiving. However, contrary to some reviews of this dress, the stitching is fine and doesn’t make you look like box. It looks exactly how it does on the model.
Bottom line, buy this dress if you have a body to show off, wear super high heels and curl your hair and you’ll be a knockout!

I like this dress. Size you need to buy less than what you are wearing. I wear a size 14, ordered a 12. It was possible to order 10.
The growth of several longish dress 168. On the chest is not a black insert. It came to me without it. But on the whole dress looks good.

Even if your breasts are perfect, something about this dress makes them appear to be saggy.
You can see your bra through the insanely large armholes @ the sides as well.
I love the material, I love the print, but the design of the dress itself is pretty awful.

It is a very pretty dress, however, there is no lace at the top, and it is somewhat see-through. I do understand it says no lining, but it’s not what I thought they meant. I wore a slip and got some compliments so !

I bought this dress in Ivory to use as my Wedding dress for a country type wedding to wear with cowboy boots. The order arrived in a timely manner without any flaws. The dress is beautiful but VERY sheer starting under the breast down and will require a slip.I was pleasantly surprise the front hem fell below my knee. The model is shown with it above her knee and I was concerned it would be too short. I have no negative comments to make. I am pleased with my purchase and look forward to my Wedding day in 2013. The King of Style: Dressing Michael Jackson

The book itself has a very weak biding. After only one read-through (and mind you I’m very gentle on my books, as an avid collector) the binding has split. This is causing the pages to shift around and look like they may fall out. I would think for a book that has a list price of $45 would have a lot better quality.

When I first pulled this book out of the box I was a bit stunned by the sheer size of it, it’s a coffee-table book. The slip cover has Michael’s Badd Tour opener coat embossed on the front. Underneath the slip cover is what looks like a drawer pulled out of Michael Bush’s workshop with little bits and baubles, tour buttons and all sorts of things that go into MJ’s costumes. It’s a nice little touch that makes the book eye catching to look at, with or without the cover.

Regarding the content, I learned so much I never knew. I never thought so much time and effort went into every little detail about Michael’s clothes. Every page was fascinating. The full color pictures are pure eye candy. I found myself staring at the pictures and looking at every detail. I wont spoil the book for you but Bush reveals interesting tricks they used in the way they cut and fit Michael’s clothes to function for him as a dancer. It even shows a famous rhinestone glove and rhinestone socks in progress.

Michael Bush is a good writer, and was obviously a very good friend to Michael. I love the funny little anecdotes on MJ’s pranks and antics. I couldn’t put it down once I started reading it. The passion both these men had for their work practically leaps off the page.

I’ve been eyeing this book for quite awhile, debating on whether or not to buy it. I’m so glad I did. It’s a must read for fans, or even non-fans fascinated by costume. Read it, you wont regret it!

EDIT: I complained to Amazon about the damaged book and they approved a replacement right away (I’m expecting it tomorrow, actually.) Amazon was swift in handling the situation. Hopefully the next copy of this book does not have the same issue of the weak binding.

Sugarpepper Dream Small Bikini

Sugarpepper seems to have it figured out here. I bought this pair for my fiancee. She loves a nice smooth material that feels good on her skin. Over the years, I’ve bought a bunch of underwear for her, but none felt any better than these. She feels so sexy in them (Guys, listen up, this makes them an excellent gift, wink wink). These also do not have the stitch-line that runs down the center of them from front to back (or half way), which is a huge plus in her opinion. The colors are bright and they seem to hold up well. The material is light weight and they don’t create any pantie lines at all, making these perfect for many occasions and/or outfits.

One thing to note, they MAY be sized a tad bit small. They ride up a little bit on her. She has never worn medium panties in her life, but thinks she could fit into a medium here (and she’s actually smaller right now then usual). Seeing as how I’m no womans sizing expert, I can’t be sure what to advise here. Trusting my lady, I will probably order her a pair of mediums to see how those fit her (a different design of course). I think the size may contribute to the riding up issue, but moreso because they are very light weight without elastic around the leg openings. While the elastic is great for keeping them in place, it creates panty lines that she hates. The riding up isn’t nearly as bad as some underwear.

My only REAL problem with SugarPepper is that they make only 6 fabric patterns and 3 different cut varieties. With fewer options than many manufacturers, it won’t be long before I’ve maxed her out on them. I’ve ordered so many different types of underwear for her over the years. Some are great, some are so-so, and plenty have gone in the trash the day I got them (Womens underwear is more complex than a man would expect!). I am really glad I found these, they are excellent. I might not be telling my mom to go buy herself a pair, but I’m telling you to!

The only thing I didn’t like was that the bottoms didn’t have a liner at the crotch so the stitching runs from front to back, which can be uncomfortable if your in it all day or if the bikini is riding up on you. And even though the season is winding down a little, it doesn’t mean that you don’t have to still take care of your glove the rest of the way! These are conditions that age your glove and make the leather and laces weak if ignored for 3 or 4 months each summer, season after season.
